Machine Operator – Planer & Sander

Western Archrib islooking for a motivated individual to join our Production Team. This machine operator position will be based out of our new Sturgeon County production facility.

About the position

In this role, you will be responsible for operating brand-new, state-of-the-art, planning and sanding equipment at our new production facility.  Some duties will include but not limited to:

  • Set up and operate the Ledinek Planer to produce accurate and consistent glulam member sizing.
  • Set up and operate the IMEAS EvoL Sander to achieve proper surface finish.
  • Enter production batch data into machine controls/HMI controls.
  • Adjust feed speeds, cutter heads, sanding belts, and other machine settings to maintain production and quality standards.
  • Monitor machine performance, product quality, and material flow throughout the shift.
  • Assist with knife changes, cutter head adjustments, sanding belt changes, and machine alignments.
  • Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor maintenance on both machines.
  • Inspect finished product for dimensional accuracy, thickness, and surface quality.
  • Follow all company safety policies, including lockout/tagout (LOTO)and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Work Schedules

  • Standard work schedule is Mon-Fri 6am- 2pm. This is subject to change once the plant is fully operational.  Overtime may be required.

 

Compensation  

  • Wage will start at $25/hour.
