Western Archrib isseeking a skilled CADTech to join our growing teamand help shape the future of sustainable construction through mass timber. Inthis role, you’ll work closely with architects, engineers, and production teamsto develop precise shop drawings, panel layouts, and fabrication details forcomponents such as Glulam (glue-laminated timber).

The ideal candidate isexperienced in timber detailing, CNC manufacturing processes, and advanced 3Dmodeling—ready to contribute to ambitious projects that redefine the builtenvironment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D models and 2D CAD drawings for mass timber components, including shop drawings, connection details, and production plans.
  • Prepare fabrication and assembly drawings for glulam, GLT and other engineered wood products.
  • Review and interpret architectural and structural designs, identifying and resolving potential conflicts
  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, project managers and manufacturing teams to maintain design intent and ensure seamless construction.
  • Prepare CNC cutting files and optimize nesting for automated fabrication processes.
  • Assist in developing BIM (Building Information Modeling) models and integration with project workflows.
  • Maintain and update the CAD library with standardized components and connection details.
  • Ensure all designs comply with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Assist with project documentation, including bill of materials (BOM), RFIs, and revision control.
  • Other related duties as required.

Work Location

Preferred on-site at either our Edmonton, AB or Boissevain, MB facilities. However, remote or hybrid arrangements can be discussed for the right candidate.

Work Schedules

We operate on standard business hours Mon-Fri 8am-5:00pm MST; based on project timelines, occasional overtime will be required.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications and may be adjusted depending on the candidate’s location and fit for the role.
