Millwright - Sturgeon County
Western Archrib is currently looking for an experienced Millwright at our new Sturgeon County facility. The right candidate for this position will be actively involved in the set-up and commissioning of mechanical equipment and production lines for our new facility. You must have experience in performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical equipment both in-shop and in all production areas. The right candidate for this role must be self motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision.
Duties: will include but are not limited to:
- Install of mechanical components, hydraulic & air lines, chain runs and other tasks associated with set-up of material processing equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical equipment issues.
- Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up.
- Comprehension of conveyor dynamics and material handling fundamentals.
- Perform routine maintenance work on machinery.
- Assemble machinery prior to installation.
- Start-up and testing.
- Understand and read Engineered Blueprints and drawings.
- Shutdown operations.
- Rigging and handling.
- Bearing, seals and packing.
- Keep work area and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
- Perform duties and operate equipment in a safe and satisfactory manner.
- With the right candidate this role will evolve into a Maintenance Manger position responsible for managing additional staff in the maintenance department.
Additional information:
Wages:
- Wage will start at $40.00-$45.00/hr based on experience. Wages will be evaluated with more training, competency, and progression within the company.

Requirements:
- Journeyman Millwright certification
- PLC programming and Industrial Electrician experience is an asset
- Basic experience with overhead cranes and rigging equipment
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical systems and quality control systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to work with minimal direction.
- Hours of work for this position are Mon-Fri 7am-3pm plus OT as required
- Flexibility to work Saturdays is also required for this position.
- Experience working with multi-trade crews and contractors.
- Leadership for safety excellence training is an asset but not required.
